Critique Image

This image is attracted me at first second, the artistic conception of this image is so good in my opinion and it's really telling a story. First, from the composition analysis, the picture uses a symmetrical composition, this is really good for emphasize the focus point. Meanwhile, the guide line from bottom corner is perfect guide your sight to the focus point, which is a person who sat down on the floor and face to face with a cat. The light is awesome here, because of the symmetrical composition here and both side wall is dark then transfer to a light area at center, combined with the theme which is actually imply a loneliness feeling for audience. Why a person sat down over there singly with only a cat face with him/her? Is he/she homeless? Or he/she meet some trouble? Did they (the person and the cat) knew each other before? All of those question well asking by audience, but the image is good for your imagination. In my opinion, that's the best thing about the artistic conception for this image.

This image was shot in last year's October, at Great Smoky Mountain national park, Clingmans Dome Trail. I planned to spend a day to finish this trail, start at Newfound Gap, round-trip approaching 16 miles. And for me, this is the first time I did a serious trial hiking for long distance like that. During the hiking on the trial, is tired, tough, but also beautiful. And I found that I never been so close to nature, the experience makes me discovered a lot of views I never seen before. The picture showing above was taken in the return after I've arrived destination. The forest is incredible quiet, and I was shocked by the way I already walked. This trail is covered with fallen leaves, peaceful, quiet, and mysterious. Meanwhile, I knew only few people could see this view because I knew how hard to walking over here. So I involuntarily picked up my camera and recorded this image. Never give up in the middle, after arrived your destination, looking back, and you will understand everything is worth it.
